That is correct. the second unit would take a cohesion test because of the flank attack.

The unit falling back stops when it gets level with its supporting friends. The unit that follows up then fights against all those it is now in contact with.

I don't think it was possible to have a stall at the end of the playing area, it is usually too difficult for the organisers. (I didn't see the set up at Lutterworth I admit). Remember that routing units cannot rally unless a commander is within command radius, so it can be worth having a commander acting as a sweeper. However Scythian warriors are C6 so would need to throw a 3 or less with 2D6 and are unlikely to rally at all, so going down to 2 commanders is probably a ...

Ok now I understand. It is possible for a unit including 50% archers to form in a single row of mixed bases. However it is then stuck in that formation, unless you have the separate spear and archer bases to form it in two rows with archers only at the back and fighting troops only at the front. In ...

You can't have a unit made up of 6 mixed bases. It must be: 3 spear and 3 mixed, =25% archers; or 3 spear and 3 bow, representing 50% archers; or 3 mixed and 3 bow, representing 75% archers (depending on what the army list allows). See above for the dice generated.
