Re: Base widths

You should be fine doing it that way. the only time differing sizes really matter (except when the two armies are on different sizes!) is when a flank is attacked and you have to ensure that the correct number of dice are thrown by the flanking unit, or likewise when fighting elephants or chariots.

Re: Small scale rules

We have now completed our 6/10mm version of the rules and are about to commence final play testing. The armies are being painted at the moment. No publication date yet I'm afraid, but you will be able to use our existing army books with these rules.

My Viking Army

Here are a few shots of my Viking army, intended to represent the Dublin and Man settlers. Because of this the troops are formed in open order. Figures are Gripping Beast, from all the early ranges, some of which are currently out of production. Allied Irish cavalry-this is a stand-in unit, as mine ...

Re: First army list early imperial Romans

I wouldn't bother with drilled for the Auxiliary archers. In fact I'd field them in open order without the armour, and probably have one unit of 10 bases. That's 13 dice which is a very respectable amount to unload on a single target. With only 3 legionary formations, it might be wise to get a coupl...

Re: Publication Schedule

Yes we will, so for example there will be Avar and Lombard ranges to accompany the Charlemagne book.

Re: Flank Attack scnario

I should say that a force total of 999 is your own fault and there must be 750 on table at the start. However proscription to the point of spoiling the game is not our way. You can flank march with 250 points. Others note, this does not set a precedent though-250 points is the max.

Re: Late Romans

Only that Lord S likes cavalry and doesn't really know what to do with infantry. The concept of combined arms assaults is utterly beyond him, his main tactic being "Chaarrge!" Though he has since added a large unit of foot bow to the force, having been stung by them-his motto is get some, rather tha...

Late Romans

This is the army we produced for Lord S to use (with mixed results) at the Pompey pillage. It is a mix of Gripping Beast plastics and metals. Th

e army looks pretty large because it totals 1500 points, the requirement for the Pillage (a great event!)
