Schiltrons are blocks of spearmen, the "Common Folk" in the list.
In your combined formation (see rules and errata) your crossbowmen will be behind the spearmen. Usually crossbowmen cannot shoot other than from a front rank, but in this formation they can shoot even from behind the spears.

Yes they are likely to show up at Warfare. I think there are 4 berserkers in the mix.

The somewhat flippant answer to the first question is that the lists were originally written by a Frenchman. You can upgrade one unit to Household as per the mounted version. Yes the Welsh should be spearmen not billmen.

Mixed units look right but crossbows don't. You can't use stakes in a mixed unit. Unit composition is a personal thing, try it both ways and see which you prefer. More captains equals more dice, but if your key combat units have them you can get away with the rest. Artillery can be useful, especiall...
