Re: Warfare 2019

It is likely that we will be limited to 16 spaces. I have requested the same location as last year as I think this worked well, but can't guarantee we will get that location. I will publish the tournament pack after the Swindon event. Cheers W.

Hi Dave, it will almost certainly be Classical to allow folk to have an opportunity to use the forthcoming campaign supplement. Cheers W.

Folks, just a heads up to say that the Warfare show at Reading will be on the 16th/17th November.
We will hopefully be running a Swordpoint event.

Re: Javelins versus Slings

Hi B, I was thinking of lists such as Lysimachid, Eumenid, Antigonid, Twilight of Greece, Seleucid, Ptolemaic etc regarding the option of sling/no shield vs. Jav with shield. You are right that where there is a choice of taking skirmishers with sling & shield vs. Javelin & Shield then the former is ...

Re: Javelins versus Slings

For skirmishing troops you will often find that in the army list it's a choice between equipping them with sling but no shield vs Javelin with shield. Formed troops benefit from shooting from a narrower frontage. In calculating the costs the actual cost of the Javelin is the same for both skirmisher...

Re: Vikings/saxons

In Swordpoint a commander may join a unit. When with a unit they are assumed to be in the centre of the front rank. The commander provides additional dice during melee and a bonus to the units cohesion (morale). Swordpoint includes a special rule - "Shieldwall" which provides a benefit for troops wi...

Re: 1. Flank charges and 2. break tests

Hi B - 1. The shooting phase occurs before the movement phase. Once casualties have been removed (and any necessary tests taken), then you proceed to the movement phase. At this time it will be apparent what is an eligible target and what isn't. I'm guessing that what you are actually asking is - if...
