Re: Warfare 2019

Having just got back from Southern Italy (the efforts I go to research things!) I will be taking an army based on the Greek city port of Pompei before it became a Roman colony and whilst it was in the process of being de-greeked by the Osci speaking peoples....

Or something like that!

Re: Warfare 2019

Well the Southern Italian's gave those Athenian interlopers six of the best (but then they were Athenians ;-) ) They put up a decent show against some bow heavy Pontics as well. A real winner ;-) Although I reserve the right to change my mind in case the original decision I make turns out to be pants in the light of the actual facts that come to li...

Elephant Escorts - TTEOTW

Can the 'Elephant Escorts' special rule in To The Ends of The World book be utilised by Elephant's in other supplements? It would seem strange that a Ptolemaic army in the TTEOTW can have them, but the Ptolemaic list in the Classical list can't. Not angsty about it, but more curious with Reading com...

Mamluks at Pompey

Some thoughts on using the Mamluks at the recent Pompey Pillage. The Pillage is the tournament where the games are played on an 8' wide table and consequently armies are 50% larger than normal and so was at 1875 points for the medieval period. Looking at the models I had and the amount of painting t...

Re: Elephant and charging questions:

Let me see now how many of these can I get wrong as I make response... Q1 Whilst it is not a declared charge it is still treated as a charge so I would say that there is a terror test for being charged by the elephant. I would also say that it is a charge in the flank, after all you would still bene...
