Re: An Army for Derby

Well the models were just about ready for Derby. although some of the bases could have been made to look a bit nicer. So how did it go. Game 1 - against Dacians. They decided they didn't want to fight and kept on backing away. I lost one base to bow fire (5 hits from six shots hitting on 5's and sav...

Re: Derby Worlds classical event

A big shout of thanks to Wayne for his umpiring and general organisation and for GB sponsorship. Thanks to my opponents, Andrew, Martyn (apologies about forgetting your name...), Andy and Dave. I will give an ARR on the Classical forum. Not so big a shout out to the organisers of the Worlds who didn...

Re: Fleeing Units Removal of Discouraged Markers

If they rally they can then be removed. Discouraged markers do not impact on rally tests as that is a rally not a cohesion and has a different set of modifiers.

Re: Shooting and combined formations

If they are shooting they will not get the benefit of the shield to save against incoming shots would be one disadvantage of having every base mixed.

Re: Rules query

If you fall back off table then that is the unit gone. Even if only one base partially goes over the edge. Angling units so that the opponent falling back goes of the table is a valid tactic. I have achieved this result by accident rather than design, but took the credit for skillful positioning. As...

Re: An Army for Derby

Well another two practice games with mixed results.... Martin's Gauls did not do much to the phalanx, but were eventually able to exploit the situation when the battle line broke up as the open order warbands were pushed back. So to some extent I became a victim of my own success. Against Malcolm's ...

Re: An Army for Derby

Martin, sent text (but no idea when it will go due to poor signal where I am), have had to wait to sort some things out with work to find a date to rearrange. Morning of the 11th any good for you?
