Re: Cirencester Event 2024

Well you will be well under way, quite a few armies I have not seen at a tournament before, which is good. Andy Cummings taking a non-Welsh army ..... No clear favourites among the runners and riders, but Martin knows how to use the French if he gets to play. Have a great time and I look forward to ...

Re: Charging straight ahead

You would be better to move unit B so that it is on the flank of unit X so that you can charger it in a subsequent turn. Depending on distances etc you might be able to make X nervous. Re: What (apart from combat added/survivability) is the difference between Close and Open Order for Melee Troops

Whilst on the face of it the differences are fairly minor they do add up when taken all together. Open order troops are more fragile/brittle than close order but more maneuverable. It does not matter how many models are on a base - open order loses a base with every 3 casualties it takes whilst clos...

Re: Charging

1 If you touch an enemy unit when charging then they are engaged - if it is corner on then they get the one die, but if touching the front of the other base then it is two attacks. Normally this happens when you have a wider unit such as cavalry charging two narrower units e.g. infantry 2 Yes cavalr...

Re: Fighting to the flank

If I was asked at a tournament I would say no, but what do I know!

Re: Warfare 2023

It has taken me a while to get home ;-) but thanks to all involved. I enjoyed the scenario variants. In scenario 1 - I was the defender and promptly marched off the hill as I felt standing around twiddling my thumbs would give the initiative to my opponent. Scaenario 2 - I really like this having th...

Re: Warfare 2023

Certainly smaller than mine.

6 Commanders
Units
2 Phalangites
1 Thorakitai
2 Line Cavalry
2 Elephants
1 Scythed Chariots
3 Infantry skirmishers
1 Cavaly Skirmisher

12 units 113 figures (i think! depends on how many figures an elephant is!) plus commanders
