They can fight, they are only destroyed/flee if they lose the combat so that they have a give ground result, that they cannot comply with due to the proximity of enemy troops.

It is quite feasible if the dice go their way that they win the combat.

You just have to try and make sure your general is near by as the elephants approach.....

I think the only way they could get a re-roll is if they were veteran, as that allows them to re roll one set of dice during the game, and this can be for cohesion tests.

All troop types need to take cohesion tests if charged by elephants or if they want to charge an elephant.

Elephants are formed, the only time they can stand and fight is if they are in difficult terrain when the ellie charges.

Game 1 A is not part of the combat, but is in LoB. B and C lose the combat by 7 (11-4) and then apply the LoB rules. C loses by (7/2) = 3.5 round up to 4 - take a break test and if passed fall back B loses by (7/3) = 2.33 round up to 3 - fallback A as it is not actually in the combat but is in LoB r...

If EEE goes for some reason then you have two separate combats

AAA and DDD

BBB and CCC facing off against FFF

Game 1 ABC lose by (2+9-1-1-2) = 7 A has one supporting unit in the battle line so divide result by 2 = 3.5 this needs to be rounded up to 4 = take a break test for b and if passed it falls back - D can follow up or persue if A breaks B has two supporting units in the battles line so divide the resu...

No, they have to make their choice at the start of the battle, to use the shield and get a better defence or to not use the shield and have a stronger attack. Choices, choices....
