Re: close order in case charge 8"

One more situation:

3) Units of Massed Pikes can charge 8" but definitely forfeit their close order bonus, as mentioned in the rule.

Maltese Order of St. John

A mate of mine has a really nice Maltese army for the sieges of Rhodes and Malta, but wonders how to play it in Swordpoint. Up until now he plays them by either as Ordensstaat or LHRE. His focus is on the Corsair-like nature of the army, mainly foot knights, x-bows, pikes and handgun skirmishers, al...

Raid Scenario Question

Yesterday we played the Raid scenario and it worked pretty well (for the attacker at least^^). One question arose, though: The peasants in the village broke and ran immediately after being shot at by x-bows. At this point the scenario rule of dicing attacker troops in contact with the camp for looti...

Re: Attack on the Camp Scenario

Both terrain pieces are still WIP, they need painting and I am waiting for some 10mm buildings to arrive. But when they are finished, I will gladly post some photos of them here.

Re: Artillery in Line of Battle?

Does this also apply to Organ Guns, who can stand against charges as well? I was thinking of a situation, where the artillery is positioned next to infantry, but out of enemy charge range due to depth, e.g. Cannon next to a pike block. If the Massed Pikes are charged, do they count the cannon as par...

Re: Attack on the Camp Scenario

Thanks,

As I have already build an 12" square camp (and village, too), option one is not viable for me, but option two seems like a good idea and also has a nice flavour.

Terrain interference fall back/counter-charge

Does difficult terrain reduce movement in the fall back and cavalry counter-charge moves?

Attack on the Camp Scenario

Played this scenario yesterday and an important qestion came up: The defender has to deploy this army in the camp. As it is nearly impossible to fit a whole 650p (or 800p as we played medieval) army into a 12" square, where does he deploy the rest? 1. Anywhere in his table half (probably 6" from the...

Artillery in Line of Battle?

Maybe a stupid question, but I couldn't figure it out and I have a game tomorrow, where this might be an issue:

Does Artillery/Cannons take part in the Line of Battle?

e.g. does a close order unit standing next to a cannon count it as "in Line of Battle" to mitigate the combat result or not?

Re: Later Italian City States

Thank you very, very much for the amendments. I think these are really good solutions to field the nice Perry miniatures and encorporate the historic armies. Concercing the Carroccio, you might be right. I found the latest mention in 1325 at the Battle of Altopascio and a general decline of its usag...
