As all bases now shoot at all targets, the option to switch to a secondary target no longer exists.
The factors relating to the shooting attempt are not relevant to target selection
An elephant is still visible over intervening troops

A fleeing unit is neither a formed unit nor an unformed unit, but a fleeing unit. Fleeing units can be charged by skirmishers.

I agree they are best used as skirmishers. The purpose of formed runners is to add in to a combat alongside the chariots to give them a +1 CR for rank. However the width of most chariot units renders this impractical on most occasions. They also provide the ability to clear annoying skirmishers out ...

I have booked the three rooms at the Old Time B&B. We only need two so a twin room is available at £50 per night, contact me if you want this for one or for two. I think the Poppy House and the Boars Head both have vacancies at the moment.

I have always found the Swiss very effective on the table. Partly because they are concentrated in so small an area of the table! I also use later French, in which I have one pike block as part of a combined arms force.

It is counted by bases. A base that has half its figures armed with crossbows counts as a crossbow base.
