Pompey Pillage. 11th - 12thAugust 2018

Postby dave.p » Sat Dec 02, 2017 11:48 am

In 2018 we shall use the Classical Armies book, allowing any 1500pt army except for Later Sassanid.
As usual the tables will be 8' x 4'. There will be five games using GB scenarios, three will be 1500pts, one will be 500pts and one will be 1000pts.

The venue will be the Horndean Technology College, PO8 9PQ. The hall has sufficient space to be able to move around the tables easily and the car parking is free.

The cost will be around £33 which includes the price of subsidised meals. This price is not confirmed yet because the college is very slow to confirm their costs. When the price is confirmed we will take payments by paypal, or I will mug you at shows.

The rule-pack is nearly complete but I don't expect to release it until late February. In the meantime feel free to post questions here.

It looks likely that the ticket cost will remain at £33 for this year.
It is advisable to book hotels early for this.
A quick Trivago search for hotels and B&B's within 5 miles of Waterlooville shows 11 offers between £62-£88 for the two nights. This will cost more if you leave it too long.
We still aim to release the pack for this shortly after the Swindon event.

That's nine of us so far, which is a good start.
I'll try and mug you for money at Swindon.

Just finishing Lord S' Ligurian horde. All metal so will need a fork lift to get it into the hall. What idiot decided 36 bases of skirmishers would be a good idea?

I hope the Lord S is painting these figures, and not you Martin, he might be the boss, but that is taking advantage? Also, we are going to have to provide him with a table with additional support to take the weight. Is this a tactic to slow a game down by having to move 36 bases, which are not on a movement tray?
