Parthian Shot with Javelin

Postby DennisW » Wed Jan 10, 2018 1:51 pm

Hello,

Javelins have a range of 6 inches. Do light cavalry with javelins have to be within 6" of potential enemy chargers at the start of the move to use parthian shot before evading?

Hi Dennis - I would say yes as their evade move is a charge reaction/compulsory movement and therefore comes before the chargers movement in sequence. Cheers W.

That's what I assumed although it's not explicit in the rules. I envisioned some numidians at 15 inches from cavalry claiming parthian shot and being able to shoot javelins without ever being in 6 inch range.
