Rule Change-Crossbows

Postby MartinG » Wed Mar 07, 2018 4:22 pm

The following has been added to the Medieval Armies book errata:
"Additional Rules-Crossbows: In this period only, crossbows shoot from the first two rows of bases, like bows. However, unlike bows, they do not receive bonus dice for bases shooting from the second row."
"No one ever achieved anything without making a few mistakes along the way"

Does this apply just to foot or to mounted as well. Cheers W.

"Additional Rules-Crossbows: In this period only, "
Should be also available for dark ages too or we will find strange things like Medieval army against the "Dark age" Normans, with two rows shooting on one sides and only one raw on the other sides. There are too much lists using crossbows in dark ages that met historical opponents in Medieval book. And the solution to say if one army is medieval, errata is for both should be strange too with the same army from dark age more or les efficient with xBows depending on opponent army book...

There are no mounted troops using crossbows, to my knowledge, only light crossbows.
If a Dark Age army with crossbows fights a medieval one with crossbows, both should use the same rule, which one I don't mind.
"No one ever achieved anything without making a few mistakes along the way"
