phallanx and shieldwall movement

Postby FamilyT » Fri Apr 28, 2017 3:30 pm

My local club (well 2 of us) have purchased Swordpoint, we both use Greek phalanx troops and dark age shield wall types. The reduced movement for moving in these formations:-

1) Can you be in non formation for segments of the game then form the "formation"?
2) when you do not move straight forward or come within "worry" distance of enemy are the reductions cumulative?

Our first game will be 350 points Republican Romans v Greek Hoplite types, so any guidance on the movement considerations would help us get through the initial learning stages quicker and reduce the face in rule book frequency.

kind regards

P

It will always be a phalanx but will lose shieldwall if it moves over 4 inches. A phalanx within 8 inches of enemy which moves straight ahead will move 3 inches.
