As group of friends who either play or have played other rule sets in 15mm it was decided upon after much discussion to use 40mm x 30mm for most bases, 40mm especially being seen as the most cross over frontage for other rule sets (Existing or will exist in the future) with depths not such a big factor, saying that Swordpoint being a new endeavour for us, we intend to be open minded in the future about skirmishers, cavalry in general and whether to use sabot bases after playing for a while at this 15mm scale. (Aware that Swordpoint is designed for 28mm). Command bases will be the same as in the rule book. Everything seems to work ok at the moment but when the cavalry armies come on the table, Sassanids for example, I am sure how the rules play will be looked at again.
