Converting hits to kills.

Postby Jim ando » Wed Nov 28, 2018 5:45 pm

Hi
Please forgive my ignorance but the above section has me baffled. I get most of it but where it says roll higher than the bases defence dice which is in the profile in the lists yes so far so good. However what is the
Light armour 6
Heavy or partial plate 5
Plate or cataphract 3
All about.

There is no armour 4 for instance and as an example a base of late roman legionaries are defence 5 but put them in light armour(+2) to the points value and it gets worse by going up to 6 if im working out correctly. The negative modifiers i presume lower the defence value to make the base tougher.

Cheers
Jim

Jim, the lower the defence factor the better. So a large shield is 5 add light armour it becomes 4 and so on. I don't have the rules with me, but there is a table somewhere that shows this.

Thanks for the reply. I realise the the lower the defence number the better but what isnt clear is the defence value in the army list or table on page 14. Light armour 6 what does that mean when you look in the army lists units defence is different. Clear as mud.
