Charges and repsonses -Close order troops

Postby Medieval Warrior » Sun Sep 22, 2019 3:54 pm

i wanted to ask one question regarding charges....let us say player 1 wins the initiative and decides to charge with his Foot Knights another Close order infantry unit..can player 2 charge as well?i know counter charges are only for mounted troops...so initiative is very important as you have the chance to charge and attack first..correct?

and do mounted Knights with barded horses halve their move when 8 '' from an enemy?

thank you

Hi MW, to answer your questions;
- Only Cavalry, Chariots and camelry charged to the front may countercharge, so an infantry unit may not counter charge another infantry unit. A unit that has a charge declared on it must declare a charge response and therefore cannot declare a charge itself.
- The movement reduction due to the proximity of the enemy within 8" only applies to close order infantry.
