Re: Warband armies in the classical period - choices choices

Hi Bob, 4 bases warband of course is not a brilliant idea alone ! But just aside a good phalanx or an other 6 bases warband, it gives you 2 momentum for charge and as they are D7, attract hits so the other unit still have +1 depth bonus. And you put them 4cm behind the line, so shooters will have ot...

Re: Dacians

Hello Martin, Sorry I forgot errata, so OK ! For "Nobles", I thought of a 4 bases top limit, because you are right, they were not numerous as others, maybe then a "veteran" unit ? This time, this is not for me but for those who find these armored Dacians in their boxes. Anyway, this could be used fo...

Re: Later Italian City States

For the Milan stilish rules, French should not be affected. Or maybe a cohesion test to talk about fashion and don't move a turn if failed ?

Re: Warband armies in the classical period - choices choices

I have a german and a thracian army and plan to buy some dacians from victrix when available. German with spear option are cheap, especially in open order, they can have two superior cavalries with escorts that counter lack of armor for at least one of them. Mix of open and close order gives some fl...

Re: Shieldwall AND two-handed axe ??

A friend that re-enacted viking combats and especially shieldwall explained to me that the front rank of warriors hold their shields and thanks to the length of danish two handed axes, a second close rank could hit the enemy ! I think you can put shield wearers at the front of the base and two-hande...

Re: Dacians

Hello Martin, All ideas were taken, great ! Now Dacians are very specific and quite historical. One last thing, and I think of all painters (that I am not) : warlord, victrix show dacians with armor. I checked and found that these armors are very rare for dacians, so you were right not to give them ...

Re: Early Byzantine/Jusinian Very heavy Infantry

I think to be very careful with this option that gives a powerful 3+ infantry defense that did not exists in other dark age army except for provisionnati in the early MEDIEVAL italian city-state (1050+ AD)... and with shieldwall that italians doesn't have, it is awsome !

Re: LEM, June 6th/7th 2020, near Paris (France)

Hello Philip and Waynes,
Thank you for your support !
Unfortunately, interest to swordpoint is going down and I didn't find local support to organize all that in a good spirit.
So I cancel this tournament but wish you to win the english ones !
Best regards,
Bruno

Death of a commander

Hello,
Just to check if we played it right : as rules specifies casualtieS (plural) for commander death test, we thought that at least two casualties are necessary to have to test, are we good ? Or only one works too ?
