Guys, I've had to pull out of Britcon (Long story short- my hospital Consultant does jot want me to mix with other humans for some time yet) so there should be a spare ticket going.

Maybe contact GB or Tim at the email address below:

info@bhgs.co.uk>

Or, failing that Eventright?

Apologies to all- it looks like another year of isolation for me

To those attending Britcon-we have 5 games set for Saturday and Sunday. If anyone is planning to be on site Friday evening, let me know if you would like a game organised, absolutely fine if you have other plans or want to suggest some other activity.

Judgeing by the armies already "in" it looks like I'm going to be missing a fab time again.

Have fun all.

It is interesting how some events an army that has rarely been seen on the battlefield before suddenly becomes 'the army' of the day.

Three Abbasid armies already! I wonder if there will be any more! It will be interesting to see how the armies compare. I presume we all have the 'compulsory' Naffatun unit. Two Sassanid Persian will be reasonably similar in feel as well.

I know Malcolm is bringing Capetain French, so there will be two of those.

Thank you to Martin and Gripping Beast for their sponsorship of the event and for Martin umpiring.

Congratulations to Dave Pearson for his deserved win, even though he broke my army into little pieces in the first game.

Thanks to my other opponents over the weekend; Wanye, Andy Pickering, Dave Hale and Andy Beer. Having fought two of the other Arab Caliphate armies there I claim the title of 'Caliph'!

Having an 8' table really makes a difference in the way you approach the games and army composition. It certainly forced me into a radical departure in having as many cavaly units as foot units and I can say that there is a place for skirmish cavalry.
