Shock chariots against multiple opponent types.

Postby dave.p » Mon May 02, 2022 9:33 am

This oddity happened in a recent game.
A unit of Babylonian heavy chariots (four bases wide) charged into contact with a three base frontage of Sumerian heavy chariots and its neighbour unit of infantry.
The Babylonian chariots have the shock cavalry rule against infantry only. In this probably atypical situation do they benefit from the shock cavalry rule against both units ? just against the infantry ? or do they not use it at all through not going full-speed into the chariots ?

They don't get it. Giving them shock simulates the probable wavering of the infantry as they approach, these ones won't be worried as their own chariots are there to protect them.

Thanks Martin.
In this case presumably the shock hasn't actually been used up and could potentially be used in a subsequent charge?

If you mean Shock Cavalry rule 4, then that is correct.
