Cracking day playing chariot wars yesterday - thank you to my three oponents: Mike (Hittites), Dave P (sumerians) and David (Trojans) and of course to the pompey lads for organising.
Learned quite a lot - especially my enlightenment around the (DBM like!) 1" rule and what can and cannot be done.
Good to see no one took the game breaking Isrealite Benjamite 16 bases of superior shooters - or indeed I dont recall seeing any units above 12 bases. There were quite a few Hittite Shock chariots. While I am not worried by the obscene number of attacks from the tooled up Hittite chariots - its their ability to charge (in turn 2!) formed infantry. Shock alone is powerful enough (extra combat dice, and improved combat resolution if they win) - but adding the ability to charge formed infantry is rather, well a game breaker IMHO.
