Good spot! Sorry about that, the Spara rule did not make it across from the Swordpoint rulebook for some reason. This is the rule: "Some troops are equipped with the Spara, a very large cane wicker shield that was propped up in front of the unit for protection, Spara count as large shields and give the unit the Shieldwall rule as long as at least half the front rank is equipped with them and the unit does not move. It also negates the Close Order and depth bonuses in combat, for both sides. If the unit follows up or falls back in combat it retains the -2 Defence modifier for the large shield, although it loses the Shieldwall benefit. A fleeing unit abandons its Spara for the rest of the game".
